Description

The first in a series designed to support youth-serving adults who teach sex education to folks with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD), this module addresses how participants’ understanding of different life skills should impact facilitators’ methodology to meet their access needs. This includes facilitation methods to help support learning in different ways, particularly with people with I/DD. While we will highlight some common challenges that arise when working with participants with I/DD, these strategies can be helpful in adapting facilitation in all classrooms and for all learners. Finally, participants will get an opportunity to practice facilitation decisions with concrete examples and challenges that may come up in a classroom.
