Why sex ed
Knowledge is for everyone, and having access to sex education ensures that individuals have the skills they need to make healthy decisions about their bodies and relationships throughout their lifetime. Having access to fact-based, non-judgmental sex education is critical for young people because the decisions youth make regarding relationships, sexuality, and sexual behavior can impact not just their health, but also their well-being for the rest of their lives.
What is RSEI?
Whether it is working with youth or adults, the Responsible Sex Education Institute has a variety of programming options that meet our communities’ needs. Our trained sex education experts are skilled at facilitating groups of all ages and abilities in a variety of settings such as schools, community organizations, and churches. Our programs align with national and state sexual health standards and laws. A leader in the sex education field, the Institute ensures its programs empower participants with the knowledge and skills to make their own decisions with regard to their sexual health.
Our connection to Planned Parenthood
The Responsible Sex Education Institute is the education branch of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. PPRM began providing education and care to the Denver community in 1916. Since then, our region has grown to include all of Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Southern Nevada. Through our work, we empower individuals to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health by providing high-quality health care, comprehensive sex education, and strategic advocacy.

Mission: To be the trusted sex education resource that empowers individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and communities with inclusive, up-to-date, and culturally relevant information and skills to foster healthy relationships, safer sex, and linkages to care.
Vision: We envision a society where sexuality is free of stigma and all people receive inclusive, up-to-date, and culturally relevant sex education from dedicated experts who trust and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health, relationships, and lives.
