The Network
The Southwestern Sex Education and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Network envisions a Southwestern Region where all people with cognitive disabilities have access to sex education that meets their learning needs. This is a group of self advocates, disability support professionals, educators, and anyone passionate about sex education sharing resources, supporting each other’s efforts and establishing best practices.
Join the Network
The Network hosts 1-hour virtual meetings every other month.
Here is our 2026 calendar:
- Monday, January 12th at 3pm PT/4pm MT
- Thursday, March 12 at 10am PT/11am MT
- Monday, May 11th at 4pm PT/ 5pm MT
- Thursday, July 9th at 9am PT/ 5pm MT
- Monday, September 14th at 4pm PT/ 5pm MT
- Thursday, November 12th at 9am PT/10am MT
Anyone interested in joining can register. We will consider your availability when we schedule future meetings.
Mission & Vision
Mission: The Southwestern Sex Education and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Network is a group who are working together to expand accessible sex education for people with cognitive disabilities. We do that by sharing resources, supporting each other’s efforts, and establishing best practices.
Vision: We envision a Southwestern Region where all people with cognitive disabilities have access to sex education that meets their learning needs.
